The Company is set up to carry out geotechnical Investigation, coal exploration and hydraulic investigation as well as undertaking the preparation, appraisal, and engineering design of water, dam, coal fields and irrigation projects for private developers.
The main responsibilities include co-ordination, providing team leadership and consultancy input for detailed project, economic and engineering evaluation and appraisal. This is in addition to the day to day managerial duties of running the company.
August – December 1992 National Water Conversation and Pipeline Corporation, Kenya
Deputy Regional Manager, Rift Valley
Main duties including identification and subsequent preparation of project proposals for presentation to the head office. Also assisted the Regional Manager in carrying out duties that included operation and maintenance of all water in the region, collection of revenues, preparation of the budget, minor designs, liaison with local authorities and office administration. The Rift Valley covered eight towns in an area of about 7,000 square Kilometers. Supervised two Engineers, twenty inspectors of Water Suppliers, forty Technician and two hundred support staff.
July 1989 to July 1991 Project Engineer
Seconded to assist the Deputy Chief Development Manager in handling all contractual matter in the implementation of major water supply projects including three dams. Duties included preparation of appraisal report for regional projects funded by the corporation , budget presentation to the board of directors, attending site meetings, liaising with the consultants, preparation of forward budgets, preparation of tender documents, preparation of Engineer’s estimates and general office administration.
Feb to June 1989 Ministry of Water Development, Kenya
Residential Engineer – Nanyuki – Infill Sewers, Phase 1
Handled all aspects of site supervision, measurements, land compensation, design changes in liaison with the Municipal Council. I supervised an Engineer and two Inspectors of Works. Contract Value – Kshs. 30 million
June 1988 to Jan 1989 Deputy Resident Engineer
Greater Nakuru (West) – Water Supply Project
I was seconded specifically to be in charge of all design changes that were required on this project. Other duties involved assisting the resident engineer in all aspects of site supervision, and all report writing for the project. I was also in charge of all quantitative and financial records on site. Four Engineers and Six Inspectors of Works reported to me. Contract Value – Kshs. 700 Million.
Oct1986 to May 1988 Resident Engineer-Oraimutia Concrete Dam
Handled all aspects of site supervision, measurements, supervision of grouting works, land compensation and minor design changes. Supervised two Engineers and tow Inspectors of Works.
Contract Value – Kshs. 15 Million.
